A rebrand of the Grand Ole Opry with a design highly influenced by its heritage as a small radio station turned historic music call in Nashville, Tennessee that gave birth to country music.



THE SHOW THAT MADE COUNTRY FAMOUS
THE GRAND OLE OPRY WAS FOUNDED IN 1925 BY GEORGE D. HAY. THE OPRY BEGAN AS A RADIO STATION SERIES THAT WAS BROADCASTING OUT OF A DOWNTOWN OFFICE ON A CHANNEL CALLED WSM. POPULARITY GREW RAPIDLY IN ITS SECOND DECADE, AS IT TURNED INTO MORE LIVE PERFORMANCES RATHER THAN A RADIO STATION BROADCAST.

THE REBRAND IS HIGHLY INFLUENCED BY ITS PAST, BEGINNING AS A RADIO SHOW. THE ICONOGRAPHY THAT MAKE UP THE THEATER'S NEW IDENTITY HAS HEAVY REFERENCE TO THE OLD FASHIONED RADIO SET THAT AIRED THE FIRST OPRY BROADCAST, SCRATCHY TV SETS WHERE AN AUDIENCE COULD WATCH PERFORMANCES, AND THE FIRST FORM OF PRINTING, KNOWN AS THE LETTERPRESS, WHICH WAS USED TO MAKE CONCERT POSTERS. THIS NEW IDENTITY CREATES AN AUTHENTIC EXPERIENCE OF REIMAGINING THE HISTORIC GRAND OLE OPRY.
